Stone application is a discipline that seems like it would be off-limits in many instances. But with a commitment to reinventing how materials can be manipulated and enhanced to deliver exceptional and original design, Axolotl has inspired architects and designers to create the unthinkable.

Axolotl ‘Stone Surface’ and ‘Flex Stone’ are the newest, natural stone surfaces that are so lightweight and flexible that they revolutionise how stone can be used in architecture and design. These surfaces are not a composite product, but rather a natural stone that is ultra-thin at 1-3mm. Each piece is unique and showcases the inherent beauty, texture and lustre of natural stone. Without compromise, this surface can be curved to a convex or concave profile. For example, certain stone types can be bent to a minimum 200mm radius depending on the grain direction. Each sheet is extremely flexible allowing stone to be introduced to new designs at a fraction of the cost of solid stone.

Our ‘Sculpt’ process enables carving and polishing of natural stone to create almost any three-dimensional design. Due to the bespoke nature of all our surfaces, you can individualise each stone piece. Choose from our own portfolio of designs, or create an entirely unique design, and create an artwork that rolls from one panel to the next so that no two stone slabs are alike.
