OUR TEAM

 

Axolotl was launched to facilitate and create architectural and art projects not just through innovative surfaces, but through bringing together the best talent possible. Our Sydney team is composed of passionate and talented designers, artists and technicians from the building, interior, spatial and industrial design industries.

A varied and international group of dedicated professionals that are committed to creative authenticity, work together to deliver quality products with the integrity demanded by the best in the industry. Brands such as Tiffany & Co, Louis Vuitton and Four Seasons Hotels choose to work with our team over and over again.

Our team are recognised leaders in design and innovation, all playing a part in our 70 plus industry awards since we started business in 1995. 

There are currently over 100 staff working in Axolotl facilities throughout the world and every one has a role to play in our success.

KRIS TORMA

CEO

Kris has been involved in the visual and creative arts for the past 30 years. He has studied cinematography and worked as an art director in the Australian film and television industry. As the co-founder and CEO of Axolotl, he has continued to dream and create, winning multiple awards for innovation and creativity along the way.

KIM TORMA

Creative Director

Kim has been the Creative Director of Axolotl for close to three decades. Over that time Kim has honed his passion for organic creative expression and meticulous attention to detail to a level of engineering ingenuity that approaches alchemy. His skills are multi-faceted from design to execution and thrives on being thrown a problem to solve.

EMMALINE COX  

Design Director

Emmaline joined Axolotl in early 2012 with a recently earned Bachelor of Interior and Spatial Design from the University of Technology Sydney. She now has more than ten years of experience designing and managing commercial projects for Tiffany & Co, The District, and Genting Group.

Beyond the commercial world, Emmaline is passionate about developing and managing private and public artwork commissions and is Axolotl's Art Projects Design Director. She’s partnered with esteemed artists, Jade Oakley, Dale Jones Evans, Jane Cavanough and Pamela See and is proud to have contributed to temporary art exhibitions, Sculpture by the Sea Bondi and the City of Sydney's Art and About.

EMILIA GRUJIC

Senior Designer

Emilia joins Axolotl with a wealth of experience in the interior design industry. 

Having worked as an Interior Architect for over 12 years her knowledge and experience encompass both the design and project managing of interiors across the board in commercial, hospitality, aged care and both luxury and multi residential interiors. 

Her passion for innovation through design has led her to focus on developing bespoke metal and glass work with equal respect to the value of form and function of materials and their application in built spaces.

SHEKHINA GENISH-GRANT

Senior Designer

Shekhina has over seven years of industry experience extending from work in luxury furniture through to interior design, where she has worked on the design and curation of residential, commercial and large scale hotel projects.

Throughout Shekhina’s design journey her interest has always laid in people’s emotional response to space but also holds a strong appreciation for the finer details in designs, and the beauty behind the creation of art and sculpture.

Her combined experience and interests have led her to join the innovative Axolotl team.

MICHELLE MORRIS

Colour Consultant

Axolotl has brought together a team of specialist colour consultants and designers that we believe care as much about bringing your dreams to life, as you do. They also love and know Axolotl products as much as us.  

Michelle spent many years studying colour, interior decorating and design at the School of Colour & Design as well as Enmore Design Centre. She gained invaluable experience working on a vast array of projects, learning to colour match by eye and providing specialist colour and product advice.

Michelle is available for an in-home colour consultation covering the South, East and Western suburbs of Sydney.

PERRI MOONEY

Colour Consultant

After graduating from Enmore Design Centre in 2003, Peri has gathered experience in interior design, decoration and styling through many facets of the industry.

Having also taught at many design institutes, and developed complete courses for Diploma-level learning about design, Peri can explain away any area of design or construction.

Peri is available for an in-home colour consultation covering the North, East and Western suburbs of Sydney.

MARNIE BATEMAN

Operations Manager - General

Marnie has been part of the Axolotl team since 2007. Whilst working at Axolotl Marnie was suitably inspired to also complete an Advanced Diploma of Interior Design at Enmore Design Centre. With her valuable combination of design flair, business and life experience, Marnie is an integral part of the day to day operations at Axolotl.

LEANNE CORNISH

Global Operations and Development

After 17 years in film, commercials and television production, Leanne switched it up and completed studies in Architectural Technology. Her early skills were instrumental in supporting her architectural and design passion to enable Leanne to successfully establish a business as both interior designer and project manager for many large, domestic building projects.

Since coming to Axolotl in 2012, Leanne’s enjoyed the constant challenge that comes with managing a manufacturing floor of artisans, delivering world-class operations right across the scale – from the smallest bespoke one-off art pieces to whole building panels for multi-nationals.
