At The Glasshouse in Paddington, Nina Maya Interiors brings natural light into a compact inner-city home. Axolotl’s bronze surfaces bookend the residence, with a sculptural entrance door at the front and a textured sliding gate at the rear.

Axolotl’s scope
Axolotl created the custom Splice entry door and handle in aged Gold Bronze, and the three-panel sliding gate in Bronze Cortex. Axolotl Chroma paint in Ryder and Stratus was used throughout the interior and exterior.
Materials and processes
The entry combines a bespoke 3D printed Splice design with an aged Gold Bronze surface. At the rear, the Bronze Cortex treatment gives the sliding gate a richly textured surface. Flat wall paint provides a matte backdrop to the home’s marble, timber and metal details.
The challenge and response
The metal elements needed to serve everyday functions while contributing to the architecture. The detailed entrance door creates a welcoming focal point; the three-panel rear gate doubles as an outdoor feature wall, visible from the internal living areas.
