Project Manager · Axolotl Art Projects
Full-time · Matraville, Sydney
Work with artists, consultants, subcontractors and our fabrication team to deliver public and private art projects. Reporting to the Design Director, you will coordinate design development, budgets, documentation and delivery.
Responsibilities
- Prepare tenders, develop budgets and present concepts.
- Work with artists to develop designs that meet the brief.
- Lead design development and documentation with the project team.
- Plan schedules, milestones, resources and fabrication or installation activities.
- Manage subcontractor performance, project reporting, risks and variations.
- Maintain cost forecasts, contractual records and project performance measures.
What you will bring
- Three to five years of relevant client-side project management experience.
- A sound understanding of product, building or sculpture construction.
- CAD, Illustrator and Adobe Creative Suite skills.
- Clear communication, careful documentation and strong time management.
- The ability to manage several projects and work independently or collaboratively.
- Knowledge of commercial and multi-residential art projects and relevant planning requirements.
- A current driver’s licence, access to your own car and residence in the Sydney area.
- An arts background, construction-site experience and an interest in art and design are advantageous.
Finisher / Sander
Monday to Friday · Matraville, Sydney
Prepare substrates for Axolotl’s coating systems and finish our applied metal, concrete and terracotta surfaces. Sanding, filler work, finishing and polishing are central to this role. Panel-beating or French-polishing experience is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Read job sheets and prepare substrates accurately.
- Sand, fill, finish and polish work to the required surface standard.
- Follow production schedules and instructions from the Production Manager.
- Work safely, handle materials and maintain attention to detail.
What you will bring
- Experience in sanding and filler work.
- A methodical approach and the ability to work to a deadline.
- The ability to read job sheets and follow instructions.
- Knowledge of current workplace health and safety requirements.
- The capacity to lift and handle materials safely.
- A positive, professional approach and availability Monday to Friday.
The role includes opportunities to learn, lunch on Thursdays and an early finish at 2 pm on Fridays.
Dispatch Coordinator / Delivery Driver
Matraville, Sydney
Coordinate incoming and completed work at our workshop, deliver items to clients and suppliers, and help the production team keep projects moving.
Responsibilities
- Receive and dispatch items, and manage workshop storage.
- Record incoming and outgoing items, including accurate measurements.
- Set up items for processing, check quality and wrap completed work.
- Deliver and collect goods from clients, suppliers and third parties.
- Liaise with office and sales staff, and assist production as needed.
What you will bring
- A current manual vehicle driver’s licence and forklift licence.
- Strong organisation, communication and basic computer skills.
- Confidence using Google Docs, Sheets, Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks under pressure.
- Reliability, punctuality and a practical, methodical approach.
- The ability to use basic tools and handle materials safely.
We provide on-the-job training, lunch on Thursdays and an early finish on Fridays.
